Walk So Kids Can Talk

Dr. Scott Clack and family enjoyed participating in the Walk So Kids Can Talk event 2015. The event was a great success and Touchstone Naturopathic Centre was happy to be part of raising funds for the important cause.

Have you ever heard of The Kids Help Phone? It's a national service, free to teens that need help with emotional health and well-being. Since 2002 the first Sunday of May has been established as the day to "Walk So Kids Can Talk", which is also a lead-in to Mental Health Week.

Since learning of this walk two years ago, I have supported its goal and the organization's objectives. In my practice I have met many children, tweens and teens who have struggled with many challenges in their lives: abuse, drugs, divorcing parents, bullying, and more. It's great that there is a resource like Kids Help Phone that they can use, safely and anonymously. As mentioned earlier Kid's Help Phone is a free-service to children from 5 through 18 years old. While there are some Corporate sponsors, Kid's Help Phone raises the balance of its operating revenues from donations and pledges. I will be walking again this year, on Sunday May 3, 2015 to help them out further.
